The City entered into Contract No. CT-19996 with R. D. Zande & Associates, Inc. on January 4, 1999, for $464,200.00 for the preparation of contract construction plans to widen Alum Creek Drive from two lanes to five lanes from Williams Road on the south to State Route 104 on the north as well as add curbs and storm sewers. The estimated cost of right-of-way acquisition and construction of the project is $16.5 million. Right-of-way acquisition is projected to commence in state fiscal year 2005 with construction starting in state fiscal year 2009. This legislation modifies the contract to update the plans for changes in field conditions, eliminate an 8 foot shoulder, add signal warrants, add soil borings and include new city standards for wheelchair ramps. The amount of this modification is $145,000.00. The original contract amount was for $464,200.00. The total amount of the contract including this modification is $609,200.00.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this contract modification is available within the Roadway Improvement project of the 1995, 1999 Voted Streets and Highways Fund.
Emergency action is requested to keep this design work on schedule.
