Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to enter into contracts with the Catholic Social Service Program(s) in Central Ohio for the provision of services for a twelve-month period. The total amount of these contracts is $31,826.00.
This ordinance represents programs to be funded following the Department of Development's application process. The legislation targets the Catholic Social Service Program(s) that will provide help to senior citizens through the Senior Companion and the Senior Care Programs. In addition, the city supports other programs and activities so that the greater population is assured access to information, technical and other community assistance. These programs include childcare and housing referral, emergency services, literacy initiatives, community mediation, and planning activities. This funding will allow the process to continue.
This ordinance is an emergency due to agencies accruing program expenses associated with operations.
