To honor and recognize the 190^th Anniversary of Second Baptist Church of Columbus

Body

WHEREAS, the Second Baptist Church of Columbus is observing their 190^th anniversary celebration on October 24^th, 2026; and

WHEREAS, the occasion honors nearly two decades of worship, witness, service, and community impact; and

WHEREAS, Second Baptist Church is the oldest Black Baptist Church in Columbus, being an abolitionist voice in the community back in 1847; and

WHEREAS, the work done today by Second Baptist Church leaders and members to outreach, support, and develop the Columbus community deserves further recognition; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this council hereby honors and recognizes the 190^th anniversary of Second Baptist Church of Columbus
