Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
The Ohio Department of Transportation recently completed the Columbus Signal Expansion Project, Phase 10. This project provided for improved coordination and operation of approximately fifty four (54) signalized intersections by connection to Columbus' traffic computer. The project was administered by the Ohio Department of Transportation.
2. EMERGENCY DESIGNATION
Emergency legislation is requested to reimburse the Ohio Department of Transportation for the City share of this recently completed project in a timely manner.
3. FISCAL IMPACT
The Ohio Department of Transportation has completed this project and determined the final share for the City of Columbus to be $120,558.53. Funding for this reimbursement is available within the Streets and Highways G.O. Bonds Fund due to cancellation of encumbrances from completed projects.

To authorize the Director of Public Service to pay the Ohio Department of Transportation the City share of the Columbus signal expansion project, Phase 10 and to authorize expenditure of $120,558.53 from the Streets and Highways G.O. Bonds Fund for the Division of Design and Construction; and to declare an emergency. ($120,558.53)

WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Transportation recently completed the Columbus Signal Expansion Project, Phase 10 to improve coordination and operation of signalized intersections within the City; and
WHEREAS, the final costs and the City share for this project have been determined; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize payment to the Ohio Department of Transportation for the City share of this project; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Service, Division of Design and Construction, in that it is the sense of this Council that the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation be reimbursed for work already completed, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, ...
