To honor, recognize, and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Northland Community Council and its countless efforts to improve and maintain the quality of life for area residents.
Body
WHEREAS, the Northland Community Council is the primary source of civil leadership and advocacy for Northland's residents and civic organizations. It exercises their collective influence in promoting and representing Northland on matters pertinent to the desirability of the area, value of property, and overall quality of life within its boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the Northland Community Council is a coalition of civic associations, home-owner committees, and many other community groups in the Northland area of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, the Northland Community Council covers over 25 square miles, represents over 125,000 area residents, and works with Columbus City Council, the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission as well as countless other city, county, state, and non-profit organizations to enhance the prosperity of the Northland community; and
WHEREAS, the Northland Community Council serves one of the most diverse regions within the city of Columbus. It is not uncommon to find 50 year Northland residents living side-by-side with young couples or even new immigrants; now, therfore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
To honor, recognize, and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Northland Community Council and its countless efforts to improve the quality of life for area resident, as well as doing its part to make Columbus the best place to live, work, and call home.
