Explanation

This legislation is to repeal Ordinance 0483-2006 which passed on April 5, 2006 to contract in the amount of $25,000 with  Capacity. The Office of Education would like to enter into contract with Tech Corp Ohio in place of the Capacity vendor .

Title

To repeal ordinance 0483-2006 for contracting with Capacity for $25,000.00 and to authorize the Director of the Office of Education to enter into contract with Tech Corp Ohio for $25,000.00 for purposes of providing basic technology equipment for students; and to declare an emergency.

Body

WHEREAS, The Director of the Mayor's Office of  Education desires to enter into contract with Tech Corps Ohio to provide technology equipment training; and

WHEREAS, the training provided with these dollars will be of the highest quality; and

WHEREAS, an emergency  exists in the usual daily operation of the Office of Education in that it is immediately necessary to enter into contract to continue services, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; and now,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1. That the Director of the Office of  Education is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with TECH CORPS OHIO to provide basic technology training .

SECTION 2. That Ordinance 0483-2006 is hereby repealed regarding the authorization to enter into contract with Capacity;

SECTION 3. That for purposes of funding said program, $25,000.00 is hereby authorized to be expended in the following manner

Education General fund 010, OCA 404004, OBJ Lvl 03-3336.

SECTION 4. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part of hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither  approves nor vetoes the same.
