Explanation
Background: Ordinance No. 1489-2004 passed September 13, 2004, authorizing the City Attorney to acquire certain property rights, and to expend certain monies in connection with the Maize/Morse Stormwater System Improvement Project. The original amount of funding made available for this project was done so with the understanding that additional monies may be needed at a later date. It is now necessary to increase the Auditor's Certificate established by the aforementioned ordinance by the amount of $65,000.00 to pay for additional costs in connection with the Cooke Road Phase of this project.
Fiscal Impact: The Department of Public Utilities, Division of Sewerage and Drainage has determined funding for this increase will be from the Storm Sewer Bonds Fund.
Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow the acquisition of the parcels necessary for this project to proceed without delay.

To increase an existing Auditor's Certificate by $65,000.00 from the Storm Sewer Bonds Fund, for the "Cooke Road Phase" of the Maize/Morse Stormwater System Improvement Project and to declare an emergency. ($65,000.00).

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus is engaged in the acquisition of real estate in connection with the "Cooke Road Phase" of the Maize/Morse Stormwater System Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in that it is immediately necessary to increase an Auditor's Certificate by $65,000.00, for the Maize/Morse Stormwater System Improvement Project, to pay additional professional service costs and other fees incidental to the acquisition of real estate for the above referenced project for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore:
