Explanation
BACKGROUND: The Health Department provides laboratory testing of medical specimens generated by various programs within the Health Department. A "Request for Proposals for Reference Laboratory Services" for a three-year period was sent out in 2004, and Grant/Riverside Methodist Hospitals was awarded a contract. This ordinance will authorize funding for the first year of a three-year period for laboratory testing services provided for the Ben Franklin Tuberculosis Clinic.
