Title: To authorize the acceptance of a deed for a parcel of land to be held in the Lank Bank inventory and to declare an emergency. (110 East Woodrow Avenue)
Explanation

BACKGROUND: In order to have an effective Land Reutilization Program, it is necessary to acquire other vacant and underutilized properties. This property located at 110 East Woodrow Avenue, will be held in the City's Land Bank and managed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Land Utilization Program. This transfer of property will be done by virtue of deed, which will be recorded in the Official Records of the County Recorder's Office. This vacant property will be marketed for residential infill housing.

FISCAL IMPACT: No funding is required for this legislation. The maintenance of this parcel will be provided by the Environmental Blight Abatement Unit.

EMERGENCY
JUSTIFICATION: Emergency legislation is requested to enable owner to deduct donation from current year taxes.

Body

WHEREAS, Teresa L. Kozanecki, owner of the said real estate has agreed to donate this property to the City's Land Bank ; and

WHEREAS, by virtue of said deed to the City of Columbus this deed will be recorded in the Franklin County, Ohio, Recorder's Office; and

WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the deed for said property which will be held in the Land Bank Program and managed in accordance with the Land Reutilization Program's policies and procedures; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development, in that it is immediately necessary to acceptance said parcel to enable owner to deduct the donation from current year taxes thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; and, NOW, THEREFORE,


BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
