To Declare July 24, 2009 as the Official Dedication of Project Linden Inc.'s "Alvin R. Hadley Counseling Center".

WHEREAS, the mission of the Project Linden, Inc., a Columbus and Franklin County community outpatient drug and alcohol treatment and prevention agency, is the prevention and elimination of drug abuse and addiction through education, intervention and treatment of potential and actual drug dependent persons; and
WHEREAS, on Friday July 24, 2009 the Project Linden, Inc., will dedicate its Counseling Center in memory of Mr. Alvin Hadley, on its founding board members; and
WHEREAS, The Board and Management believe it is a befitting tribute to the legacy of leadership and service that Mr. Hadley gave during his tenure as a Project Linden Board Member; and
WHEREAS, Alvin Hadley, a Columbus resident, passed away January 21, 2009 having served as Project Linden's Board Treasurer and being deeply involved in planning and forming the vision of the agency since its inception in 1973; and
WHEREAS, Project Linden, Inc. has a 25-year history of providing quality services to the community and remains committed to promoting, maintaining and conducting programs and activities designed to enable individuals to develop a lifestyle free of chemical dependency leading to economic independence, productivity, self-empowerment and a self-fulfilling social function; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That we do hereby recognize the dedication of The Alvin R. Hadley Counseling Center and do commend Project Linden Inc. for its vital role in the Columbus community.
