Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation will authorize the Board of Health to enter into a contract with Imprivata, Inc. for software services required to implement our new electronic medical record system for the period of February 1, 2026, through January 31, 2029, in an amount not to exceed $165,903.00.
Columbus Public Health (CPH) is in the process of implementing a new electronic medical record system and this service will provide a single sign-on solution for user access for enhanced security.
OSU Wexner Medical Center, the project management team responsible for the Epic implementation, requires this vendor to integrate enterprise single-sign on solution technology. CPH is requesting the competitive bidding provisions outlined in Chapter 329.18 of the Columbus City Code be waived.
Imprivata, Inc., contract compliance certificate is #CC-054298.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds for this contract are available and budgeted in the Health Department Grant fund.
EMERGENCY: Emergency legislation is requested to provide immediate funding for this critical component of the transition to our new electronic medical record software system. Proper security access to health records meets legal compliance for data access.
