Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will enable the Director of Recreation and Parks to accept a grant, enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division as a part of their Wildlife Diversity Grant Program, and provide for the appropriation of said funds to the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund.
Grant funding from the Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division will be used to support The Ohio BioBlitz 2003. The department will hold a special event on June 6-7, 2003, at Whetstone Park. The theme for this event is Bio-diversity is in Your Backyard.
This ordinance is submitted as an emergency to have funding available for necessary expenditures and to allow the financial transaction to be posted in the City's accounting system as soon as possible. Up to date financial posting promotes accurate accounting and financial management.
Fiscal Impact:
$1,000.00 in grant funding will be used to support The Ohio BioBlitz 2003.
The fiscal impact of this ordinance will be to reduce the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund's unappropriated balance by $1,000.00.
The expenditure of $1,000.00 is budgeted in the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund.
