Explanation
BACKGROUND: The Pennsylvania Railroad Holding Company installed a 12" water line along James Road. The City of Columbus Division of Water agreed to reimburse them for the cost associated with this project. The construction was inspected by the Transportation Division and all work has been completed. This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to reimburse the Pennsylvania Railroad Holding Company for the inspection fees they paid the Transportation Division.

FISCAL IMPACT: This project is included in the 2004 C.I.B. and is being funded from current monies. Emergency legislation is being requested to allow for timely payment of completed work.

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus did agree to reimburse the Pennsylvania Railroad Holding Company for the cost of the 12" water line along James Road, and

WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Railroad Holding Company did pay the Transportation Division for the inspection services associated with this project, and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Division of Water, Department of Public Utilities, in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to reimburse the Pennsylvania Railroad Holding Company for the inspection fees they paid the Transportation Division associated with the construction of a 12" water main along James Road so as to allow for the timely reimbursement of monies already paid to the Transportation Division for the preservation of public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; Now, Theref...
