Explanation
BACKGROUND: Section 3709.08 of the Ohio Revised Code permits a city constituting a city health district to enter into a contract with another city constituting a city health district to provide public health services for its citizens. The City of Worthington has elected to enter into a contract with the Columbus Health Department to provide public health services. The Health Department has also agreed to enter into a separate agreement with Worthington to provide a nurse assessment clinic for Worthington residents. Under the contracts, Worthington reimburses the Health Department for all direct and indirect costs incurred.
FISCAL IMPACT: Expenditures and revenues to provide these services are budgeted in the 2004 Health Special Revenue Fund, Fund No. 250.

To authorize the Board of Health to enter into two revenue contracts with the City of Worthington for the provision of public health services in the amount of $63,895.

WHEREAS, Section 3709.08 of the Ohio Revised Code permits a city constituting a city health district to enter into a contract with another city constituting a city health district to provide public health services for its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Worthington has a need to provide various public health services for its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Worthington has approved two contracts with the City of Columbus for the provision of various public health services; Now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Health is hereby authorized to enter into two revenue contracts for the provision of various public health services for the City of Worthington in the amount of $63,895 for the period January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
