Title: To authorize the acceptance of a deed for one (1) parcel of land (157 Oakley Avenue) to be held in the Land Bank inventory.
Explanation
 
BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes the acceptance of a deed to a parcel of land currently owned by Homes on the Hill Community Development Corporation and identified as 157 Oakley Avenue to the City's Land Bank. Homes on the Hill is trading this lot for another Land Bank property located at 571 Whitethorne Avenue. The trade is occurring in order to partner with Habitat for Humanity to construct a single-family home to be sold for homeownership. Companion legislation authorizes the conveyance of 571 Whitethorne Avenue to Homes on the Hill.  This property will be held in the City's Land Bank and managed in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Land Reutilization Program.  
FISCAL IMPACT:
The maintenance of this parcel will be provided by the Environmental Blight Abatement unit.

Body
 
WHEREAS, Homes on the Hill Community Development Corporation is the owner of the said real estate located at 157 Oakley Avenue; and
 
WHEREAS, by virtue of said deed to the city of Columbus, will be recorded in the Franklin County, Ohio, Recorder's Office; and
 
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the deed for said property which will be held in the Land Bank Program and managed in accordance with the Land Reutilization Program's policies and procedures; now, therefore,
 
 
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
 
 
Section 1.  That the City of Columbus hereby accepts the property described herein as:

Section 2.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
