Explanation
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Development is seeking a Certified Local Government Grant from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office in an amount not to exceed $2,100. This grant will be used to create and print a brochure for the Kelton House Museum and Garden.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to apply for and accept a Certified Local Government Grant from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office in the amount of $2,100. The cash match will be made by the Kelton House.

To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to apply for and accept a Certified Local Government Grant from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office for an amount not to exceed $2,100 to provide funds to create and print a brochure for the Kelton House Museum and Garden; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Development administers preservation activities for the city of Columbus through the Office of Historic Preservation; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Development desires to apply for an accept a Certified Local Government Grant in an amount not to exceed $2,100 from the Ohio Preservation Office which action requires authorization by City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Certified Local Government Grant will be used to create and print a brochure for the Kelton House Museum & Garden; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development where it is immediately necessary to apply for and accept a Certified Local Government Grant for the preservation of public health, peace, safety and welfare, now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
