Title: To direct the Board of Health to authorize payment to the Transportation Division for renovations at the Health Department facility; to authorize the expenditure of $18,000.00 from the Voted 1999 Health Renovation Fund; and to declare an emergency. ($18,000.00)
EXPLANATION
 
BACKGROUND:  The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the transfer of funds between the Health Department and the Tranportation Division. The Transportation Division will design, reconfigure, and paint parking spaces and directional signage at the Health Department facility located at 240 Parsons Avenue.
                                                             
This ordinance is requested as an emergency to allow for the timely procurement of needed services, thereby allowing the project to proceed without delay.    
 
 
FISCAL IMPACT:  This capital improvement project expenditure is budgeted within The Blind School Renovation Project, Fund 706. This legislation will reimburse the Transportation Division for the cost of this project.
 
 
Title

Body
 
WHEREAS, needed renovations include the design, reconfiguration, and painting of parking spaces and directional signage; and,
 
WHEREAS,  Transportation Division has prepared an estimated cost for the needed improvements; and,
 
WHEREAS, this legislation is being submitted as an emergency measure so that timely procurement of needed services will allow the project to proceed without delay; and,    
 
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Columbus Health Department in that it is immediately necessary to authorize payment to the Transportation Division, for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; Now, therefore,
 
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
 
SECTION 1.  That the Board of Health hereby authorizes payment to the Transportation Division for needed renovations at the Health Department including the design, reconfiguration, and painting of parking spaces and directional signage.
 
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $18,000.00 is hereby authorized from the Health Renovation Fund, Fund No. 706, Project No. 570053, Department of Health, Division No. 50, Object Level One 06, Object Level Three 6620, OCA No. 597013.
 
SECTION 3.   That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes necessary to ensure that this contract is properly accounted for and recorded accurately on the City's financial records.
 
SECTION 4.   That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
