Explanation
BACKGROUND:

Need: This legislation is to authorize and direct the Finance Director to issue purchase orders for fire uniforms from existing Universal Term Contracts established by the Purchasing Office for such purpose with Roy Tailors Uniform Company.

Bid Information: Universal Term Contracts exist for these purchases.

Contract Compliance: 31-1261664

Emergency Designation: Emergency action is requested as funds are needed immediately to purchase said fire uniforms prior to the expiration of the current contract.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Budgeted Amount: Funds are available within the Fire Division's 2005 General Fund Budget for this purchase.

Body
WHEREAS, there is a need to purchase fire uniforms from unencumbered cash existing in the Division of Fire's General Fund Budget; and

WHEREAS, Universal Term Contracts established by the Purchasing Office exists for these purchases; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Safety, in that it is immediately necessary to purchase said fire uniforms prior to the expiration of the current contract, for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS

Section 1. That the Finance Director be and is hereby authorized and directed to issue purchase orders for the purchase of fire uniforms in accordance with existing Universal Term Contracts established with Roy Tailors by the Purchasing Office for such purpose.
