The Public Service Department, Transportation Division, recently received a request from Mrs. Jamie Hunter-Eldridge, on behalf of the Original Glorious Church, to name that portion of the unnamed alley east of Joyce Avenue from East 26th Avenue to Maynard Avenue, in honor of Bishop Dr. George M. Steele Sr., their retired minister. Dr. Steele retired as minister of the Original Glorious Church after 40 years of service to his church and the neighborhood community. After review it has been determined there are no houses addressed off this currently unnamed alley and the naming of this alley in honor of Dr. Steele will have no impact on the adjacent properties.

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus, Public Service Department, Transportation Division, recently received a request from Mrs. Jamie Hunter-Eldridge, on behalf of the Original Glorious Church, to name that portion of the unnamed alley east of Joyce Avenue, from East 26th Avenue to Maynard Avenue, in honor of Bishop Dr. George M. WHEREAS, Dr. Steele recently retired as minister of the Original Glorious Church after 40 years of service to his church and to the neighborhood community; and
WHEREAS, after review it has been determined there are no houses addressed off this currently unnamed alley; and
WHEREAS, the naming of this alley in honor of Dr. Steele will have no impact on the adjacent properties; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Division would like to request this unnamed alley be named Bishop Dr. George M. Steele Sr. Lane; now, therefore
