Explanation

BACKGROUND: The Board of Health and the Columbus Public Schools have collaborated to offer quality health services to Columbus Public School employees and students that are both efficient and responsive to the district's needs. It is necessary to enter into a revenue contract to provide the foundation for an innovative coordinated school health program that is being developed cooperatively by the Columbus Public Schools and the Board of Health. Under this revenue contract, the Columbus Public Schools will reimburse the Board of Health for the provision of physician services, in an amount not to exceed $44,240, for the period of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.

FISCAL IMPACT: The Columbus Public Schools will reimburse the Board of Health for costs related to the services provided by the physician. The revenue from the Columbus Public Schools will be deposited into the Health Special Revenue Fund.

WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into a revenue contract to offer quality health services to Columbus Public School employees and students that are both efficient and responsive to the district's needs; and,

WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into a revenue contract to provide the foundation for an innovative coordinated school health program that is being developed cooperatively by the Columbus Public Schools and the Board of Health; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1. That the Board of Health is hereby authorized to enter into a revenue contract with the Columbus Public Schools for the provision of physician services, in an amount not to exceed $44,240, for the period of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.
