Explanation

Background:
This ordinance will authorize the Director of Recreation and Parks to enter into a contract with Law General for Walnut Hill Golf Course Bunker Improvements.

Two bids were received by the Recreation and Parks Department on May 29th, 2007 for the Golf Course Improvements as follows:

Services will include the removal of bunkers, grading, adding drainage and sand to bunkers that remain.

A contingency amount of $8,609.00 is being included in this project.

Contract Compliance Number for Law General Contracting is 31-1360543.

Emergency action is necessary to allow project to be complete by the end of this golf season.

Fiscal Impact:
$100,000.00 is budgeted in the Recreation and Parks Voted 1999/2004 Bond Fund to meet the financial obligation of this project.

Body

WHEREAS, bids were received by the Recreation and Parks Department on May 29th, 2007 and the contract for Walnut Hill Bunker Improvements will be awarded on the basis of the lowest and best responsive and responsible bidder; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into contract to allow work to be complete prior to end of golf season; now, therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into contract with Law General Contracting for the Walnut HIll Bunker Improvements, in accordance ...
