Explanation
BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes the Department of Technology, on behalf of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, to enter into agreement with DLT Solutions, Inc. for the purchase of AutoCAD 2008 licensing and software as an upgrade to the division's current software from DLT Solutions, Inc. The software is used for mapping, the creation/updating of shop drawings and architectural plans, etc. Because the software program is proprietary to the vendor, the Department of Technology, on behalf of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, would like to enter into a sole source contract with DLT Solutions, Inc., the sole distributor in this area, in the amount of $31,150.71.
This purchase will provide The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department with continued vendor support making it easier for the division to share data with its customers, agencies, consultants and other interested parties with whom the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department interacts.
Due to the fact that the licensing and software are proprietary, this ordinance is being submitted in accordance with the provisions of Sole Source procurement of the Columbus City Code Section 329.07.
