Explanation
BACKGROUND: This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a contract for water service with the City of Worthington, Ohio.
FISCAL IMPACT: The Department of Public Utilities will collect revenue from water rates as specified for Outside City Rates in Chapter 1105 of the Columbus City Code.

To authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a contract with the City of Worthington to provide water service.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus and the City of Worthington entered into a water service agreement on January 1, 1977; and
WHEREAS, the water service agreement has expired; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus and the City of Worthington desire to enter into a new water service agreement; and
WHEREAS, in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities, it is necessary to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a water service agreement with the City of Worthington for the preservation of public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare, Now, Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Utilities is hereby authorized to enter into contract with the City of Worthington to provide water service.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
