Explanation
Background: This is consent legislation with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for an ODOT sponsored intersection improvement project and realignment of SR317 in southern Franklin County. This project will relocate SR317, London Groveport Road, to the south of its current location with SR665 and US23 intersection. This project is being undertaken due to a high rate of accidents and congestion. The relocation will pass through the corporate limits of the City of Columbus. (FRA-317-0.00 PID 25690)
Since a portion of this project lies within the City of Columbus, this consent ordinance is necessary. Construction of this project is scheduled for State Fiscal Year 2008. This legislation also authorizes the Public Service Director to enter into the necessary agreements to complete this project.
Fiscal Impact: The estimated total cost of this project is $2,600,000.00. There is no cost to the City for this project.
Emergency action is requested to proceed with this consent in order to maintain ODOT's schedule for the construction of this project.
