BACKGROUND:
Need: The Hilton Easton has indicated their desire to donate physical fitness equipment to the Columbus Fire Division. This physical fitness equipment will be used in the Training Comlpex for personnel fitness. The Columbus Fire Division desires to accept this donation.

Emergency Legislation: This is emergency legislation because the Training Bureau would like to begin using this training equipment once it is delivered.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is an equipment donation grant and there is no matching requirement. The equipment donation is valued at $2,500.00.

To authorize the Columbus Fire Chief to accept a donation of physical fitness equipment from Hilton Easton for use by the Division of Fire for fire personnel fitness, and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, Hilton Easton has indicated their desire to donate physical fitness equipment to the Division of Fire for fire personnel fitness; and
WHEREAS, emergency legislation is necessary to enable the Division of Fire to utilize this physical fitness equipment once it is delivered; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the daily operations of the Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire, in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Fire Chief to accept this donation for the preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; Now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
SECTION 1. That the Fire Chief of the City of Columbus be and he is hereby authorized and directed to accept a donation of physical fitness equipment from Hilton Easton.
SECTION 2. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves...
