Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to issue a payment of $26,335.51 to the Franklin County Human Resource Department to reimburse the County for the property insurance premium for the Municipal Court building for the period of January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. This reimbursement is agreed to in the City's lease with Franklin County. The payment is coming late in the year due to necessary negotiations between the City's Real Estate Management Office and the County over the true cost of insuring the building.
Emergency action is requested so that Franklin County can be reimbursed for expenses already incurred at the earliest possible date.
Fiscal Impact: The total cost of this payment, authorized by this ordinance, is $26,335.51. These funds are available in the Facilities Management budget.

To authorize the Finance and Management Director to make payment to Franklin County Human Resources Department for the property insurance premium for the Municipal Court building for the period of January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007, and to declare an emergency. ($26,335.51).

WHEREAS, the Facilities Management Division has a need to issue a payment to the Franklin County Human Resources Department for the property insurance premium for the Municipal Court building, and
WHEREAS, after negotiation with the County, the Real Estate Management Office received an invoice from the Franklin County Human Resources Department, and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Finance and Management Department, Facilities Management Division, in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the Finance and Management Director to issue a payment of $26,335.51 to the Franklin County Human Resource Department for the property insurance premium for the Municipal Court building for the period of January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007 for expenses already i...
