Title: To authorize the Public Service Director to enter into an agreement with the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation and to grant consent and propose cooperation with the State of Ohio for this Broad Street Bridge over Scioto River deck overlay project for the Transportation Division. ($0)
Explanation

Background: This is consent legislation with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a bridge deck overlay project. The work includes a concrete deck overlay on the Broad Street structure over the Scioto River. This work is needed to protect the deck from future deterioration. (FRA-40-12.27 PID 82374)

This legislation also authorizes the Public Service Director to enter into the necessary agreements to complete this project.

The work will be performed during two weekends while maintaining traffic in one lane in each direction. ODOT determined that it is desirable to do this work now since the Main Street and Town Street bridges may be closed during 2009, and all of the traffic from those bridges will be diverted across the Broad Street Bridge. It is desired to perform this work at this time to preclude the possibility of an overlay failure on the Broad Street Bridge while all downtown traffic is diverted to that structure.

Fiscal Impact: The estimated total cost of this project is $1,860,000. There is no funding requ...
