Explanation
BACKGROUND: The Columbus Health Department has a need for the support of Pregnancy Care Connection (PCC) operations. This ordinance authorizes the Board of Health to enter into a contract with the Council on Healthy Mothers and Babies (COHMAB) to provide these services.
COHMAB will maintain a centralized phone line for scheduling first prenatal care appointments for uninsured and underinsured women. COHMAB will maintain the operation of the line, maintain a database system, evaluate and distribute reports about PCC, develop and disseminate outreach information and materials, and maintain the COHMAB website to promote the PCC program. Funds will support the following: personnel, data system, outreach materials/information, website maintenance, mileage and supplies.
The Council on Healthy Mothers and Babies' FID Number is 42-1546970. It is a non-profit organization and is therefore exempt from contract compliance.
Emergency action is requested in order to avoid any delays in providing program services.
FISCAL IMPACT: Monies for this contract have been made available in the FY2008 budget for the Health Special Revenue Fund.
