Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
The Division of Refuse Collection currently has a contract with TNT Powerwash, Inc., for truck washing services. This service is used to keep the Division of Refuse Collection vehicles clean and minimize the fire hazard from debris. The Division of Refuse Collection advertised and solicited competitive bids for truck washing Services in accordance with Section 329.06 of the City Code and opened them on June 5, 2007.
The term of the original contract, approved by ordinance 1062-2007, was through July 31, 2008, with the option to extend the contract up to two (2) additional years. The contract was extended two years, from August 1, 2008, through July 31, 2009, approved by ordinance 0130-2008 and from Aug 1, 2009 through July 31, 2010, approved by ordinance 0317-2009.
This legislation authorizes the expenditure of $30,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary to pay for the expenses related to this contract for 2010.
Searches in the Excluded Party List System (Federal) and the Findings for Recovery list (State) produced no findings against TNT Powerwash, Inc.
2. CONTRACT COMPLIANCE
TNT Powerwash, Inc's contract compliance number is 920184358 and expires 04/23/2010.
3. FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for this expenditure are budgeted and available in the 2010 Division of Refuse Collection General Fund Budget.
4. EMERGENCY DESIGNATION
Emergency action is requested to ensure an uninterrupted supply of service.
