To honor, recognize, and thank Firefighter William T. Hall for his 39 years of dedicated service to City of Columbus upon his retirement from the Columbus Division of Fire.

WHEREAS, Firefighter William T. Hall was hired on March 12, 1973 and has 39 years of outstanding service with the Columbus Division of Fire; and
 
WHEREAS, during Firefighter Hall's career, he was assigned to Engine and Squad 8 for 7 years, Squad 14 for a year, Engine 28 for 7 years, and Engine 30 for 24 years. He also served as a relief 9-1-1 dispatcher and was the Division's Historian for the past 18 years; and
 
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hall received multiple awards, such as the Battalion Chief Commendation and two Distinguished Service Awards; and
 
WHEREAS, in his role as the Columbus Division of Fire Historian, Firefighter Hall worked to preserve and share the rich history of the Division for generations to come. This aspect of the Division of Fire is very unique and helps make the Columbus Division of Fire the most prestigious in the country; and
 
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hall is also the President and Executive Director of the Central Ohio Fire Museum. He is one of the founders and designers of the fire museum and education center. His involvement with the museum spans more than 30 years; and
 
WHEREAS, Firefighter Hall will retire on February 29, 2012 after 39 years of commendable service to the citizens of Columbus with the Columbus Division of Fire; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this council does hereby honor, recognize, and thank Firefighter William T. Hall for his 39 years of dedicated service to City of Columbus on his retirement from the Columbus Division of Fire on February 29, 2012.
