Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes The Director of Public Service to enter into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for a bridge rehabilitation project on I-70 Eastbound ramp over I-270 Northbound on the West side of Columbus.

This project proposes to waterproof and overlay the bridge deck on IR70 eastbound ramp over IR270 northbound (SLM 22.92). Also, a polymer modified joint(PMJ) system and sub-decking will be placed over the travel lanes on IR270. This project is estimated to begin construction in the spring of 2013. (FRA-70-22.92 PID 88000)

2. FISCAL IMPACT
The estimated construction cost of this project is $733,000.00 which will be funded by ODOT. There is no cost to the City for this project.

The following is an ordinance enacted by the City of Columbus, Ohio, hereinafter referred to as the Legislative Authority or Local Public Agency or "LPA", in the matter of the stated described project.

WHEREAS, the LPA has identified the need for the described project:
This project proposes to waterproof and asphalt overlay the bridge deck on IR70 Eastbound over IR270 Northbound(SLM 22.92). Also, a PMJ joint system and sub-decking will be placed over the travel lanes; now, therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1. Consent Statement
Being in the public interest, the LPA gives consent to the Director of Transportation to complete the above described project.

SECTION 2. Cooperation Statement
The LPA shall cooperate with the Director of Transportation in the above described project as follows:
