Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to enter into a contract on behalf of the Facilities Management Division with Pad Door Systems for repair and service of doors and gate systems under the purview of the Facilities Management Division.
Formal bids were solicited and two companies submitted bids on April 12, 2012. The companies bid on an hourly rate for labor and a mark-up for equipment and materials. Bid submissions were as follows (0 FBE, MBE):

The Facilities Management Division recommends the bid award be made to the most responsive and responsible bidder, Pad Door Systems.

Emergency action is requested to ensure door repairs and maintenance at various City facilities continues without interruption.

Pad Door Systems Contract Compliance No. 31-1546098, expiration date September 30, 2012.

Fiscal Impact: The Facilities Management Division budgeted $30,000.00 for door repair in the 2012 General Fund Budget.
