To recognize Alla Baba Temple #53, A. E. A. O. N. M. S., and Illustrious Potentate Noble Gregory A. Dukes, Sr., on the occasion of the annual Potentate's Charity Ball on June 16, 2012.

Body

WHEREAS, Alla Baba Temple #53 is a non-profit Masonic Fraternal organization located on the Eastside of Columbus and centered on the ideals of community service, charity, and contribution to the improvement of the community; and

WHEREAS, Alla Baba Temple #53 was founded more than 50 years ago and chartered under the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine of North and South America and Its Jurisdictions, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Illustrious Potentate Noble Gregory A. Dukes, Sr., was born November 13, 1965, in Columbus, to Henry Dukes and Della M. (Jefferson) Dukes; and

WHEREAS, Gregory attended Columbus South High School and Ohio University, went on to complete his MBA at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College Of Business, and later received a second MBA & PMP certification; and

WHEREAS, in 1988, Gregory joined the work force as a computer programming engineer with Bank One; he also became a Master Mason and joined King David Lodge No. 116; and

WHEREAS, in 2007, Gregory was elevated to the 32nd Degree of Masonry in L.D. Easton Consistory, and he then became a Noble of Alla BaBa Temple in 2008 in Columbus; and

WHEREAS, Gregory was elected Assistant Rabban of Alla Baba Temple in 2010, elected Chief Rabban in 2011, and now serves as the 64th Illustrious Potentate; and

WHEREAS, Gregory is accompanied on his journey by his proud parents - his mother, who passed away on September 27, 2010, of cancer, but whose spirit lives in his everyday life, and his fathers, Henry Dukes and Colby Long; his mother-in-law, Ms. Joan Pearson; his loving wife Marcia Ann; his two children, Gregory Jr. and Jessica Marie; and countless other family members, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
