Title: To authorize the Director of Public Service to enter into contract with G & G Cement Contractors, LLC to provide for the payment of the contract and construction administration and inspection services, in connection with the Curb Reconstruction - Citywide Curb Rehabilitation (Project 2) project; to authorize the appropriation, transfer and expenditure of $850,000.00 within the Streets and Highways G.O. Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Service to enter into a contract for the construction of the Curb Reconstruction - Citywide Curb Rehabilitation (Project 2) project.

Work for this project consists of removal and rehabilitation of various locations of curb and curb and gutter and constructing ADA curb ramps along those streets where warranted. The work consists of removing curb and replacing in kind, and other such work as may be necessary to complete the contract in accordance with the plans and specifications set forth in the Bid Submittal Documents.

The estimated Notice to Proceed date is October 4, 2012. The project was let by the Office of Support Services through Vendor Services and Bid Express. 4 bids were received on July 31, 2012 (4 Majority) and tabulated on August 1, 2012 as follows:

The bid documents include Special Provision 146 which states, "It is the City's intent to fully utilize the available funding provided to its Curb Rehabilitation Program within the approved Capital Improvements Budget.
