To honor and recognize the Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
Body
WHEREAS, the Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center was founded in 1912 by Isabelle Taylor-Ridgeway, whose goal was to provide for the elderly a community of privacy, security, companionship, and love; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center is to provide warm, compassionate, culturally appropriate, family-friendly care and services to aging residents of Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Isabelle Ridgway's success through the years can be attributed in part to its extensive volunteer and community support, and to its partnerships with local churches, businesses, fraternities, sororities, and service organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center is sensitive to the needs of low-income and indigent elderly, particularly from minority communities, and is an effective advocate for their needs in our community and at the state and national level; and
WHEREAS, the community will gather to celebrate the Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center's 100th anniversary at a black tie gala on October 13, 2012; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor and recognize the Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
