Explanation
BACKGROUND: The Department of Public Utilities, Division of Sewerage and Drainage on behalf of the City of Columbus, Ohio (“City”), is undertaking the Alum Creek Trunk (N) & Alum Creek Sub-trunk (ACS) (CIP 650725.02) Project (“Project”). The City is required to acquire fee simple title and lesser real property interests to real property in order to complete the Project. Therefore, this ordinance authorizes the Columbus City Attorney to contract for professional services and spend City funds to acquire the property interests needed to complete the Project.
FISCAL IMPACT: The City determined the Project’s funding will require the transfer within and the expenditure of funds from the Department of Public Utilities’ Sanitary Sewer General Obligation Bond Fund, Fund 664 and an amendment to the 2013 Capital Improvements Budget. .
EMERGENCY JUSTIFICATION: Emergency action is requested in order to provide for the immediate acquisition of the property necessary to complete the Project, which will preserve the public health, peace, property, and safety.
