Title: To authorize the City Auditor to set up a certificate in the amount of $200,000.00 for various expenditures for labor, material and equipment in conjunction with facility improvements; to authorize the expenditure of $200,000.00 from the Voted Recreation and Parks Bond Fund 702; and to declare an emergency. Explanation
Background: This ordinance will authorize the City Auditor to set up a certificate in the amount of $200,000.00 for various expenditures for labor, material and equipment in conjunction with Recreation and Parks facility improvements. These are unanticipated expenditures that may include, but are not limited to, items such as concrete work, HVAC, roofing, flooring, etc. Contracts will be entered into in compliance with the procurement provisions of Columbus City Code 329 and will not exceed $20,000.00 per job.

Fiscal Impact: $200,000.00 is required and budgeted in the Voted Recreation and Parks Bond Fund to meet the financial obligations of these various expenditures.

WHEREAS, various unanticipated facility improvements are necessary within the Recreation and Parks Department; and

WHEREAS, funding is available for these improvements from unallocated balances within the Voted Recreation and Parks Bond Fund; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to set up a certificate in the amount of $200,000.00 for various expenditures related to facility improvements thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; NOW, THEREFORE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1. That the purchase of labor, materials and equipment is necessary for various unanticipated facility improvements within the Recreation and Parks Department.

SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $200,000.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and is hereby authorized from the Voted Recreation and Parks Bond...
