Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of Finance and Management to enter into a contract with BissNuss, Inc. for the purchase of a Centrifugal Blower for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage. The Centrifugal Blower will be used at the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Centrifugal Blower provides air infusion in the disinfection contact tanks to maintain proper oxygen levels (O2) in the water prior to discharge into the river.
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with Section 329.06 (Solicitation SA005505). One hundred and two (102) vendors (97 MAJ/3 F1 and 2 MBR) were solicited and one (1) bid 1 MAJ was received and opened on August 7, 2014. The Division of Sewerage and Drainage recommends an award to be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, BissNuss, Inc.
The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.
SUPPLIER: BissNuss, Inc., Contract Compliance Number: 34-1392362, expires 10/25/15. This supplier does not hold MBE/FBE status.
FISCAL IMPACT: $33,558.00 is budgeted for this purchase. The Division of Sewerage and Drainage did not have a purchase of a Centrifugal Blower in 2012 or 2013.
