Explanation
BACKGROUND:
This ordinance will authorize the Director of Recreation and Parks to modify and extend a contract with Catholic Social Services, Inc. in connection with Title IIIA Nursing Home Transitions. Federal grant funding was awarded to the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA) from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Catholic Social Services, Inc. assists COAAA case managers with securing housing, goods, and services necessary to establish a habitable dwelling for clients discharged from nursing facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$80,000.00 is required from the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund as follows:

WHEREAS, federal grant funding for Title IIIA Nursing Home Transitions was awarded to the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operations of the City to modify and extend said contract so that services can be expanded for the immediate preservation of public health, peace, prosperity, and safety; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
