To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Louis Ann Neff and to extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

Body

WHEREAS, Louis Ann Neff, born on April 22, 1938 to Ralph and Irma Hunter, a lifelong resident of the Hilltop neighborhood, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Louis was a graduate of Columbus West High School as a member of the class of 1955, and married her high-school sweetheart Carl Joseph “Joe” Neff the following year in 1956 with whom she raised 5 children - Mitch, Stacy, Chris, Corry and Joe; and

WHEREAS, Louis was the author of "Our Pictorial Past" for the Westside Messenger, a beloved column to many Hilltop residents. She was an active member of a number of groups that benefitted her community including: The Hilltop Business Association, Hilltop Historical Society, Hilltop Community Council, Greater Hilltop Area Commission, Greater Hilltop Community Development Corporation, West High School Alumni Association, and Ohio State University Mother's Club. She received the "Woman of Character" award through the Greater Hilltop Community Development Corporation in 1997 and was inducted into the West High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2002 ; and

WHEREAS, Louis was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Lincoln Village, where she served as the church organist since 1983, she also played at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church and served as accompanist for numerous plays for the Greater Hilltop Community Theater, Bishop Ready High School, and The Wellington School. She received joy in playing for those events and in serving others through music; and

WHEREAS, Louis Ann Neff will live on in everyone’s hearts. She was truly a gift to the Hilltop community and to the City of Columbus and she will forever be missed; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
