Title: To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to modify the repair and improvement contract with Stonewall Columbus by extending the contract termination date to March 31, 2017; and to declare an emergency.
Explanation

BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to modify Contract EL017330 with Stonewall Columbus by extending the contract termination date from March 31, 2016 to March 31, 2017.

Contract EL017330 provides $50,000 from the General Permanent Improvement Fund to provide repair and improvements to the kitchen facilities at 1160 North High and the facility known as the Center’s back building. The building plans have not been approved as of this date, therefore delaying the construction work. This legislation will modify the Agreement authorized by Ordinance 1175-2015, passed on May 11, 2015.

Emergency action is requested so program activities can be completed without further delay.

FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funds are needed for this modification.

Body

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development desires to modify Contract EL017330 with Stonewall Columbus by extending the contract termination date from March 31, 2016 to March 31, 2017; and

WHEREAS, this contract supports Stonewall Columbus’ repair and improvement project for their facilities; and

WHEREAS, this modification will allow Stonewall Columbus to complete its project; and

WHEREAS, no additional funds are needed to modify this agreement; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development in that it is immediately necessary to modify the agreement with the Stonewall Columbus so program activities can be completed without further delay, all for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; NOW THEREFORE,
