To recognize Greater Columbus Community Helping Hands, Inc. on the occasion of their Eleventh Annual Scholarship and Awards Celebration.
Body
WHEREAS, Greater Columbus Community Helping Hands, Inc. (GCCHH) was founded in 2006; and
WHEREAS, GCCHH provides support to local non-profit service organizations which help youth to enhance knowledge, understanding, and social skills as well as gain volunteer experience, develop self-esteem and character; and
WHEREAS, GCCHH provides a “helping hand” to many qualified, but financially challenged college students out of strong concern for preserving families socially, educationally, economically, and morally; and
WHEREAS, the organization nurtures students into better and more responsive citizens in a competitive economy and job market; and,
WHEREAS, GCCHH promotes volunteerism in the community by building a bridge between non-profit service agencies, high school graduates, and college students; and,
WHEREAS, GCCHH enables students to develop the tools needed to be successful in the workforce through their scholarship funds; and,
WHEREAS, all of the 2016 community role models deserve acknowledgement for their steadfast leadership in the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Eleventh Annual Scholarship Awards Celebration helps economically challenged students achieve their dreams of receiving a well-rounded education; and,
WHEREAS, Greater Columbus Community Helping Hands, Inc. has played an instrumental role in providing students the opportunity to attend college through generous scholarship packages; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize Greater Columbus Community Helping Hands, Inc. on the occasion of their Eleventh Annual Scholarship and Awards Celebration.
