To Recognize and Celebrate the Northwest Civic Association for Fifty Years of Continuous Service to the City of Columbus.

WHEREAS, Columbus is honored to commend the Northwest Civic Association for fifty years of continued service to the communities of Northwest Columbus; and
WHEREAS, since its founding in 1966, the Northwest Civic Association has played the important role of advancing the interests of the residents of Northwest Columbus by ensuring that all residents of Northwest Columbus have a voice; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Civic Association has grown over the years to accommodate a larger number of residents who seek to establish their roots, grow their families and contribute to their neighborhood, and has excelled in providing recommendations to City Council based upon feedback it receives from the community; and
WHEREAS, fifty years of operation signifies the value that the Northwest Civic Association places in community engagement, cooperation and collective prosperity where members of the community are invested in promoting a positive quality of life, attractive and safe neighborhoods and a strong economy in Northwest Columbus; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Civic Association has achieved success over its fifty years of operation thanks to the commitment of its members to the Association and the City of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, it is through this commitment that the Northwest Civic Association has positively contributed to Northwest Columbus for fifty years and will continue to do so in the future; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize and celebrate the Northwest Civic Association for fifty years of continuous service to the City of Columbus on June 6th, 2016.
