Title: To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to enter into contract with Access Health Columbus, dba Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus, to administer and support research and strategic development associated with the establishment of the Columbus Women’s Commission; to authorize the transfer of $80,000.00 between departments within the General Fund; to authorize the expenditure of $80,000.00 from the General Fund; and to declare an emergency. Background
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to enter into contract with Access Health Columbus, dba Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus, to administer and support research and strategic development associated with the establishment of the Columbus Women’s Commission (CWC).
The Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus is a broad-based, nonprofit community partnership with expertise in convening public and private partners to facilitate innovative solutions to community-wide concerns, most especially, access to healthcare and challenges impacting the overall health of the Columbus region. This ordinance will allow Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus to enter into contract with, negotiate wages, and act as a fiscal sponsor to a consultant that will work on behalf of the City to lead and/or facilitate the development and establishment of the CWC.
Key deliverables include:
• Engage key stakeholders to gain appropriate, relevant and current research in the areas of governance, leadership and pay equity, housing and nutrition, workforce development and education, and health and safety; analyze the data and assess the need for further data collection and analysis; define goals, opportunities, recommendations for The City of Columbus and establish 2017 budget for CWC;
• Identify and appoint Committee members; define committee member’s role and responsibilities; determine 2016-2017 meeting schedule and work plan; and review and revise strategic framework document for 2016 and beyond; and
• Develop public-public and public-private partnerships with those best suited to collaborate and enhance and support the work of CWC and foster strong relationships with community partners.
