Background
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to contract with the Columbus Urban League to provide sponsorship support to the Columbus Urban League Young Professionals Program (CULYP).
The CULYP is a network of young professionals that strives to foster the personal, professional, and social growth of Columbus young professionals in order to build a strong pipeline of future leaders. The key demographic of the CULYP is urban young professionals, ages 21-40 looking for an opportunity to serve the local community as well as engage in impactful activities and programming that encourage personal, professional, and social growth. It is the goal of the CULYP to connect young professionals within the local community and provide access to young professionals across the nation through its affiliation with the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP).
Through its $10,000 sponsorship, the City of Columbus will join a network of public and private partners that support a program which fosters the development of the next generation of civic leaders.
Fiscal Impact: Funding in the amount of $10,000 is budgeted and available within General Fund.
Emergency action is requested in order to expedite the provision of operational support for the CULYP.

To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to enter into contract with the Columbus Urban League to provide sponsorship support to the Columbus Urban League Young Professionals Program; to authorize the transfer of $10,000.00 between departments within the General Fund; to authorize the expenditure of $10,000.00 from the General Fund; and to declare an emergency.
