Recognizing Rhonda Peeples for her selection as Ohio's 2017 National Distinguished Principal

WHEREAS, Rhonda Peeples was selected as Ohio’s 2017 National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals for her vision, positive personality, and her strong commitment to the Weinland Park community; and
WHEREAS, the National Association of Elementary School Principals has presented this prestigious award for 33 years using a statewide search process that relies on peer nominations and observations made by a visiting team of fellow principals; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda Peeples won glowing praise from her peers for her work as the principal of Weinland Park Elementary, a position she has held since 2013. Peeples has worked for Columbus City Schools since 2005 and was principal at Georgian Heights Elementary School prior to her current position; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda Peeples is an exemplary principal worthy of praise and emulation whose devotion to her school demonstrates the positive influence that educators can have on their students, staff, and neighborhood; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize Rhonda Peeples for being selected as Ohio’s 2017 National Distinguished Principal and expresses its gratitude for her extraordinary efforts as a leader of both Weinland Park Elementary and the surrounding community.
