Explanation
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Finance and Management to enter into a contract with The Dexter Company for the purchase of a Large Chipper Body. The equipment will be used by the Department of Public Utilities, Division of Water to maintain Watershed land management objectives.
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Code Chapter 329 relating to competitive bidding (RFQ005580). Twenty-nine (29) bidders (1 MBE, 28 MAJ) were solicited and two (2) bids were received and opened on June 15, 2017. After a review of the bid, the Division of Water recommends an award be made for all items to The Dexter Company in the amount of $21,985.00 as the lowest, responsive and responsible and best bidder.
The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.
