Explanation
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Finance and Management to enter into a contract with Hydro Controls, Inc. for the purchase of Golden Anderson Valve Parts. The valve parts are used to maintain the large check valves that control and stop the flow of water being pumped out of the wells.
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Code Chapter 329 relating to competitive bidding (RFQ006121). Sixty-seven (67) bidders were solicited and two (2) bids were received and opened on July 27, 2017. After a review of the bids, the Division of Water recommends an award be made for all items to Hydro Controls, Inc. in the amount of $49,574.00 as the lowest, responsive and responsible and best bidder.
The company is not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.
