Explanation
The Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, owner of the platted land, has submitted the plat titled “Lucas Street and Sullivant Avenue Dedication and Easements” to the City Engineer’s Office for review and approval. This plat has been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer. The following legislation allows the City to accept said plat located along the Extensions of Lucas Street and Sullivant Avenue to support new development in the area.
Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow the Extensions of Lucas and Cherry Streets project to support new development in the area to proceed as currently scheduled.

WHEREAS, the plat titled “Lucas Street and Sullivant Avenue Dedication and Easements” (hereinafter “plat”), has been submitted to the City Engineer’s Office for approval and acceptance; and
WHEREAS, Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, owner of the platted land, desires to dedicate to the public use all or such parts of Lucas Street and Sullivant Avenue as shown on said plat and not heretofore so dedicated; and
WHEREAS, after examination, it has been found to be in the best interest of the City to accept said plat; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Service in that this plat should be accepted immediately to allow new development in the area of Lucas and Cherry Streets to proceed as quicly as possible, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the plat titled “Lucas Street and Sullivant Avenue Dedication and Easements “on file in the Office of the City Engineer, Division of Planning and Operations, be and the same is hereby accepted.
