To recognize and thank Elfi Di Bella for her leadership and public service during her tenure as the President and CEO of YWCA Columbus

WHEREAS, Elfi Di Bella has served as the President and CEO of YWCA Columbus since 2010, where she successfully led one of Columbus' most influential organizations in their efforts to meet the critical needs of women and families in central Ohio - from chronically homeless women struggling with mental illness and addictions, to professional women striving to be the next generation of leaders in the community; and
WHEREAS, YWCA Columbus transformed the historic Griswold Building, sustained critical services, and strengthened their endowment through the successful planning, execution, and implementation of a $25 million comprehensive campaign guided by Elfi Di Bella’s leadership and vision; and
WHEREAS, Elfi Di Bella led an advocacy team which helped secure $1 million in state capital funding for YWCA Columbus which contributed to the success of the organization during her tenure; and
WHEREAS, under Elfi Di Bella’s guidance, the YWCA Family Center, an emergency shelter for homeless families, developed into a national model for success by rapidly re-housing families and offering a breadth of services under one roof, an effort of particular importance in the midst of a rising homeless population in central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, during Elfi Di Bella’s tenure, the YWCA Family Center served 8,879 central Ohio families, a number that will continue to grow and serve as a testament to her legacy at YWCA Columbus and her lasting impact in the community; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council does hereby recognize Elfi Di Bella for her service as the President and CEO of YWCA Columbus and thank her for the lasting positive impact she has had on women and families in Columbus.
